Entertainment in Buenos Aires<\/h2>\n

Buenos Aires is a mecca for entertainment, nightlife and activities. It is a large city and has the diversity and\u00a0options of a large city. The streets are littered with cafes and restaurants<\/a> that are open until midnight each night, and most bars and nightclubs don’t close until 5am. There are pockets of the city, like Palermo Soho (Plaza Serrano, located at the corner of Honduras and Jorge Luis Borges, houses dozens of bars and restaurants) and Barrio Norte (Rodriguez Pe\u00f1a between Avs. Santa Fe and General las Heras), that have dozens of bars, pubs, and dance clubs. Another great area is Reconquista, a pedestrian street in Microcentro, that is home to pubs and restaurants and at night the street turns into one blended outdoor restaurant. The after-work crowd frequents this area for happy hour.
\nThe Teatro Colon, one of the few opera houses on the shortlist of Best in the World, has just reopened after extensive remodeling. The Ecological Reserve in Puerto Madero is perfect for afternoon strolls or picnics, and neighborhood parks are scattered throughout all the barrios where the locals go to have their lunch in the sun or walk their dogs. Tango shows are almost compulsory at any restaurant in San Telmo. Horse races and polo matches are very popular and the two arenas are located in the Palermo area, with races year-round, and polo matches on the weekends culminating in November and December. In the world of sports, though, nothing ignites the emotions like a classic football match.<\/p>\n

Porte\u00f1os, however, don’t need a particular place to go for entertainment. They take advantage of parks to sit with their friends sipping mate and just enjoying the afternoon sun. So to take after the locals, go to your barrio’s nearest park with a good book and enjoy some people-watching.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
