Visa Registration Guide<\/h2>\n

Foreign nationals and their families on Employment, Student, Research, and Entry-type visas are required to register with the Foreigners\u2019 Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of their arrival in India. Please refer to the Visa and Visa Extension Sections for more visa specific information.<\/p>\n

Those with a business visa or an X-visa need not register unless their stay will exceed 180 continuous days. Those intending to stay for more than 180 continuous days must register prior to the expiry of 180 days, in which case, it is recommended to register a month prior to 180 days (i.e. after 150 days in the country).<\/p>\n

You should fill out the appropriate registration forms online at the website http:\/\/www.indianvisaonline.gov.in\/frro. You will receive a case number and will be able to make an appointment to complete the registration process. The following documents are required to be submitted at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Bangalore:<\/p>\n

Application form (available online at http:\/\/www.boi.gov.in)
\nPassport and visa in original, as well as a photocopy of the passport photo page and Indian visa
\n4 passport size photographs
\nProof of residence in India (a signed lease agreement or phone\/utility bill). The department will send the police to ensure its validity, so it is crucial that this information be accurate and up-to-date.
\nCopy of employment contract or school\/college certificate or business papers proving the authenticity of business

Note: No registration fee is charged by the FRRO, however, if the application is filed late, a nominal fine is levied.<\/p>\n
