These figures are as per the 2020 Population and Housing Census.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Malaysia is a moderate Islamic country, and women are not obliged to wear a hijab. Other religions are allowed to practice their faith freely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Consequently, you will find a selection of mosques, churches, and Buddhist and Hindu temples.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">A conservative dress code is required for entering any place of worship.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Mosques<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">Kuala Lumpur has many magnificent mosques that are major tourist attractions and architectural landmarks. These mosques are also functioning places of worship. Hence, one must always be respectful when entering a mosque by dressing conservatively, removing one&#8217;s shoes, and women must cover their head. Here are a few suggestions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\">Chan See Shu Yuan Temple is an attractive Buddhist temple of worship.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\"><a href=\"https:\/\/srikandaswamykovil.org\/\">Sri Kandaswamy Kovil<\/a> serves the local Hindu society.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\"><a href=\"https:\/\/m.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100067025706500&amp;_rdr\">Court Hill Sri Ganes<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/m.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100067025706500&amp;_rdr\">h<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/m.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100067025706500&amp;_rdr\">a<\/a> is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu elephant-headed God Ganesha.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\">Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is a stunning example of a Hindu temple.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\">Sze Ya Temple is the oldest Taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Churches<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">If you are a practicing Christian, you&#8217;ll be happy to know that there are a couple of churches in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cathedralofstjohnkl\/\">St John\u2019s Cathedral<\/a>, an Evangelist church, was established in 1883 and is located in the center of Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\"><a href=\"https:\/\/stmaryscathedral.org.my\/\">The Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin<\/a> is an example of classic English Gothic architecture with stunning stain-glassed windows and a historic pipe organ. The Sunday services are at 7 am, 9 am, and 11 am.
